In vitro study natural alternative material dental bleaching external extract strawberry fruit (fragaria X ananassa) : A Systematic Review

Abstract

AbstractObjective: General, this literature review aims to examine the benefits of strawberry fruit (Fragaria x ananassa) as an material dental bleaching external.Material and Methods: : An initial search was conducted from PubMed database and Wiley Online Library to evaluate article about natural alternative material dental bleaching external extract strawberry fruit (fragaria x ananassa). The initial results of this search were 1066 articles. Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and MetaAnalysis (PRISMA) guidelines and Population/Problem, Intervention, Comparison/Control, and Outcome (PICO) questions were used for manual selection. After manual selection, there were only 4 articlesResults: From these 4 articles, it was found that Strawberry fruit (Fragaria x ananassa) can be an alternative as a dental bleaching agent because it contains ellagic acid. Ellagic acid plays a role in the tooth bleaching process by oxidizing so that electrons can bind to substances that can cause discoloration of the enamel within 2 - 3 weeks.Conclusion: Strawberry fruit as an alternative to the external bleaching agent.Keyword: Strawberry fruit, ellagic acid, external bleaching
